To tell pseudoscience from science

Pseudoscience usually ignores the main elements of the scientific approach that usually consists in checking and correcting the mistakes made in the process of investigation. As pseudoscience doesn't use this method, it looses the connection with the object of investigation and turns it into uncontrolled process that is influenced by the mistakes gathering.
There are several features that are characteristic for pseudoscience but they should not obligatory be proper for them.
- The theory is made either by one person or by the small group of people that are as a rule not experts in this science or the science that is connected with it.
- The theory is usually very universal. It pretends to explain everything. A lot of conclusions can be made from one basic theory but the checking of the conclusion's results in practice is not held.
- Author uses the theory invented by him/her actively in business. He/she may sell the literature about the theory, gives paid service based on this theory, advertises and provides special training in the theory as well as seminars. The author advertises and spreads his/her theory as one of the ways to achieve success and to make the life better.
- In his/her articles, books, scientific publications, the author gives his/her theory as absolutely proven and that has the practical effect on 100% not mentioning the opinion of experts and the level of trust of the scientists to it.
